Learn from knowledgeable coaches, whether you are picking up the racket for the first time in a few years or have been playing for years, train with others like you and take your skills to the next level.

All of our coaches have years of experience with various skill levels and expertise.

For the June – August session prices reflect a special introductory reduced rate with no charge for the month of June.

 

*A Base Membership is required for all athletes registering for group or private lessons

*It is highly recommended that athletes register for at least two sessions per week for the Junior B, Junior A, and Adult Intermediate Groups. 

*Elite level athletes are expected to be involved in at least three sessions per week and/or regular private lessons. 

Junior Programs

Active Start

Ages 5 - 8

Athletes will begin to learn the basics of badminton footwork, strokes, rules, and games play, while developing their overall athleticism and sportsmanship. 

Focus is on fun, athleticism, and learning.

Junior "B"

Athletes who have grasped the basics of badminton and can carry a rally following all the rules. These athletes are not competitive, but they have the ability to start modifying their strokes and skills to become  better player and enjoy the game even more.

Focus is on fun, skill acquisition, athleticism, and learning.

Junior "A"

These athletes enjoy the competitive side of the game and have started to compete in Provincial junior tournaments. They have caught the “badminton bug” and want to improve in any way possible, creating a more focused and driven practice session.

Focus is on fun, skill development, discipline, athleticism, basic tactics, and learning.

Typically Advanced U17 & U19 and adults

These are the absolute top players in Manitoba and Canada, who do not like to waste time. These players are starting to specialize in an event or two (singles, doubles or mixed) and are in consultation with a Prairie Badminton Coach over their annual and quadrennial training plans and competition schedule to ensure success on a National and/or International stage.

Adult Beginner

Adults who want the social atmosphere of being with other adults, while learning the basics of footwork, strokes, and strategy. These adults are relatively new to playing badminton.

Adult Intermediate

Adults who are experienced or potentially just played in high school, but are looking to advance their skills with some real instruction rather than going out there and doing the same old thing. These adults are expected to be somewhat athletic and physically capable of doing some more advanced drills and games. 

Some of the people in this group will likely play the occasional tournament.

Private Lessons

Private Lessons

For everyone

A great option for those individuals that want to improve as fast as possible. With a private lesson the athlete gets one on one coaching with one of our NCCP Certified Coaches. Lesson’s are tailored to each athletes unique needs.

Costs of Private Lessons are dependent on the coach’s experience, ability, and certification.

Semi-Private Lessons are available as well for doubles partners, siblings, family members, and whoever wants to group together, however all participants must be of similar skill level.  Cost per per decreases with each added person up to a maximum of 4 people.
